Each year Shorecrest Prep offers what they call their Trustee Scholarship to one incoming middle school student and one incoming high school student. As most of you probably know, Shorecrest is one of the best educational institutions in the county but is also one of the most expensive schools to attend. The Trustee Scholarship covers the students' tuition through their entire schooling at Shorecrest, 6th - 12th grades. With the tuition costing about $15,000 per year, you can see the value of this scholarship. The First Tee of St. Petersburg has nominated several students for the scholarship and have been fortunate enough to have two of its' participants, Karim Oliver and Multy Oliver, receive the scholarship. Through the selection process, the students are tested both intellectually and socially to see if they can cope with high educational standards set forth by Shorecrest. The success of Karim and Multy is a true testament of the programs we offer at The First Tee of St. Petersburg. We are very grateful that Shorecrest comes to us each and every year asking for nominees. It shows us that they're aware of what a great program we have here and what we do for the youth in our community.
